This absolutely spoke to me and sums up how I have been feeling! I now feel like I have so many ideas for things to try!

Yes! As a naturally curious person (who also gets overwhelmed easily)..this perspective shift feels like a game changer! 👏🏻 Will definitely be trying this.

I did 30 day goals throughout the year during the year I turned 30! It felt like a fun way to mark that new decade. My most revealing experiments were 30 days of tracking what I wear, followed by a 30 day capsule wardrobe and 30 days of sobriety during the holiday season! I’m excited to follow along for your year of what if...?!

No alcohol for 75 days and probably beyond. I don’t honk it needs to be a part of my life anymore. For health reasons and more.

So wild you posted this! I’m doing the exact same thing. After so many years of truly loathing the marketing around resolutions, I decided to devote myself to staying curious within my life & dropping the rigidity around “must form” habits. I can’t wait to read your insights as so many of your challenges match my own. 🤎🤎

I love this - I have too many goals this year and was feeling overwhelmed with implementing. This month I've focused on adjusting my sleep schedule to be 9:30pm-6am and a few weeks into the experiment, I feel amazing! I've failed at the 6am wakeup previously because I didn't prioritize bedtime and now I'm really looking forward to February and my next goal: "I moved my body 6 days a week and..."

I’d love to see a “I meal planned for 30 days” I’m curious about all the indirect benefits, and how you experimented with how to implement it.

Oooooh, GREAT IDEA, Kendra!

I can’t wait to see all of these experiments come to life! One of my fave you tube folks, Matt D’Avella does something similar on his channel. Breathwork, cold showers, tracking all of his tasks. I loved this so excited to see what you bring!

Kate, I love love love this. Thank you for speaking this.

I think the habit I want to try for the next 30 days (with hopes it can continue throughout 2024) is to put my phone to bed at 9 pm each night. I have set timers for certain apps, I have also loved using my new faux-Hatch alarm clock to replace using my phone in my bedroom for that. I think we are all guilty of using our phones to do that "one more thing" and so many of us use our phones for fantastic things, but I see my weekly screen time report and sometimes gasp. So I plan to stick firm to this bed time for my phone for 9 pm. I may need an accountability buddy at 8:55 pm central time ;)

If anyone needs an accountability buddy, I do volunteer as tribute.

We all got this!

I'm setting my phone alarm (irony) for bedtime each night. I know it will help. I did remove so many apps this past December and I know it has helped. Shutting down the phone can help set the tone for all the evening wind-down.

Ahh so excited for this, Kate! I personally am MOST interested in the "I reached out to a friend every day for 30 days.. ", "I did a creative project every single day…" and "I decluttered one area every day for 30 days…" options, but all of them sound super interesting! I'm looking forward to reading about your takeaways from 30 days of budgeting soon :)

I loooove this shift in thinking! I’ll be experimenting with somatic exercise every day for February. I’d love to quit sugar for 30 days but I’m not quite ready to commit to that yet. 🤪

I am excited for this. I reached to a friend every day, is the one I am the Most looking forward to.

I absolutely LOVE this idea! I am pregnant with my third baby and know enough this time around NOT to try and make lofty new goals as we add another baby halfway through the year 😂 But I am still someone who enjoys being a high performer so taking it month by month is literally perfect for me this year? So excited to implement this for February!

Yes - when I approach things as more of a “I wonder how I would feel” and treat it like a self experiment, it always is more successful! I’m in Kate- “I will follow you into the dark” 🤣🤣

As a Gretchen Rubin stan I’m here to ask have you read The Happiness Project? This is the premise of it! I read it a long time ago so I’m not sure if I’d still love it now, but could give some ideas for outlining each month.

My fave themes are tracking spending and organizing phone photos - that sounds like a great way to make progress on a tedious task and then have a nice neat finished product at the end of the month to be proud of 😮‍💨 I use the Flic app for deleting photos but haven’t figured out an efficient way to go through videos yet 😵‍💫

No, I haven't read that, but I've heard of it. Maybe I'll have to download that. Sounds super aligned! And thank you for the phone curating tip-- I love the app swipewipe as it sorts 'by day' which feels really motivating!
