As a physical therapist, I love this! I prescribe exercise to my patients and this mind-shift is key to compliance.

Sidebar- will be definitely saying “you can’t spell exercise without Rx” as often as I can 🤪. Thanks for another great post, Kate!

Dang, girl! I started a Whole30 today and need to get crafty and write my prescription on a poster board, hang it up right across from my spot at the table, and take this drug as seriously as my others! I’m going with Strength training- 30 minutes MWF and Wheelchair Cardio- Minimum 30 minutes Weekdays

I’ve totally slacked off on this and needed you to kick me in the butt. Thank you~♥️♥️♥️

I love this perspective, Kate!!! This is a great way to think about it and to keep yourself accountable! Mine would be walk 1 - 2 hours everyday (unless it's pouring the rain and storming, then we get a pass) around my neighborhood or maybe another local park in driving distance (living in an apartment without a yard and an energetic dog helps force me to make this happen, especially this time of year!). My others would be to do strength training for 20 minutes 2x per week at home, and to stretch for 10 minutes at least 3x per week at home in my bedroom right before bed.

Love this idea! My prescription this month is to walk at least 30 minutes everyday! I really wanted to give myself the goal of hitting 10,000 steps everyday, but I know for some days that just might be realistic. That doesn’t mean I still won’t try to hit it the days I have a bit extra time and energy

BEAUTIFUL goal setting-- keeps you accountable even on the busy days, but allow for some wiggle room on the days that you have more time/bandwidth. Love it!

Loved this so much! I’ve been on the CGM since I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and I am taking it so seriously. I read the glucose goddess book and have added her tricks. Today I had my 33 week ultrasound I was able to show my OB the logbook of steady glucose in all healthy ranges. Something about making it “prescribed” forced me to look at my meals and make changes. At the end of the day self-prescribing as you described is truly a form of self-love. Thanks so much Kate for sharing this gentle mind shift that can be applicable in all aspects. ♥️
