Let’s talk about “main character” energy for a sec… 👀
and why it might be better to be a no-name “girl in the blue shirt” cast member on their credits roll 😉
You’ve likely heard the phrase “main character energy” in the zeitgeist lately.
This movement is somewhat self-explanatory, but to summarize— it is all about serving as the protagonist of your own life journey, being in charge of the narrative, trusting your unique story arch, exuding confidence, etc.
And, while I ABSOLUTELY want you to feel that empowered, confident, aligned ~main character~ persona in your *own* life…
Please, don’t forget that in pretty much everyyyyyyyyone else’s story, you are just a side character (gasp!) 😂✌🏼
So often we think that *everyone* around us will notice, care, and judge if we do something, say something, make a big change, go for that new career, or make a new decision...
➡️….. The truth?
They are worried about their OWN “main character” life and probably didn’t even notice the decision you made.
We ruminate on what others will think about EVERY little thing we do: how we dress, what we post online, where we live, our relationships, our appearances…
But, at the end of the day, you are a SIDE character— or maybe even a no-name “girl in the blue shirt” cast member on their credits roll (again, *gasp!*)😅
And, really, that’s not sad–
✨✨it’s FREEING!!!!!✨✨
This realization gives us permission to STOP basing your choices off of what “they” will think.
Because, chances are, they are too busy thinking about their OWN big decisions, story lines, and plot twists to even give a $h!t about whatever the heck you’re doing 💁🏻♀️
It can be easy to forget so I just wanted to send a little bonus, out-of-the-blue email reminder that, at the end of the day, very few people truly care about what you do or judge the choices you make—
So, my friend, it is time to S T O P tuning into the external noise and to S T A R T listening to your intuition—
It doesn’t have to make sense to others.
It doesn’t have to “look” like everyone else’s story.
It doesn’t have to follow a certain timeline or arbitrary set of “rules”.
It just has to feel right to you & that little gut instinct inside.✨🙏🏼💫
You’ve got this, friend!
💛
I love this way of framing things. As someone that has historically let fear of judgement guide my decisions (and is now fighting this instinct tooth and nail), I am adding 'you're the main character' to my list of personal mantras.
I love the Journal Prompt of the week section just FYI. Keep it coming!
