Hey, hey, my friend—
Sending a little extra love note your way this Sunday AM ◡̈
As I sit here at 5:18 AM in a random hotel in Illinois (my husband is running the Chicago Marathon this morning. Go, Adam!), I just had the creative nudge to send ya a bonus short ‘n’ sweet message.
It’s nothing major, nothing flashy— but it is *thee* specific question I will ask myself when facing a difficult decision or weighing different options.
While simple, this one sentence often gives me clarity, hope, and a sense of peace when I am overthinking a choice.
Ya ready? Here ya go ⬇️
“What is the BEST case scenario?” 💭✨
(Yup, that’s it.)
And I get it— this sentence may sound overly Pollyanna, annoyingly positive, or counterintuitive as our minds often (understandably) jump to alllllllll of the things that can go wrong when facing a choice. Whether you are…
➖Contemplating a big life change.
➖Needing to have a difficult conversation.
➖Evaluating your relationships.
➖Looking at your finances.
➖Changing your career.
And even beyond the “big” life moments, this worst-case thinking can subconsciously creep into the smaller choices:
➖Trying a new hobby.
➖Going to a social event alone.
➖Doing a home improvement project.
➖Changing our hairstyle.
➖(Orrrr embarking on an 8-hour roadtrip with a teething 14-month-old, for example 😅 Speaking from experience. Like, yesterday.)
So often we think of the WORST outcome. Asking ourselves:
What if I hate it?
What if I embarrass myself?
What if I regret it?
What if it goes terribly?
What if, what if, what if…
(and that’s okay! It’s natural, after all. Human nature is to proactively seek safety & identify risks…)
But sometimes (ahem, OFTEN times) our brain magnifies these “risks” muuuuch more than is warranted.
Because a GOOD outcome (even a great one) can be equally as possible 😉
✨So, my friend, what if you asked yourself all of the things that can go RIGHT ✨
What if it all works out?
What if it goes exactly how you envisioned?
What if it goes smoothly?
What if… it all turns out even BETTER than you ever imagined? 🕊🙏🏼🌞
With love,
PS: The teething kiddo rocked the entire car ride and was happy as a clam. Turns out I had been stressin’ for nothing. 😜 Go figure.
While my main thing on The Reset is, of course, sharing health info, nourishing recipes, lifestyle topics, etc., I also love to sprinkle in random personal writings (like this!) when the creative impulse strikes. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

I love your emails!! So much that I keep a folder in my gmail so I can go back and dive into recipes, etc. So keep up the great work! It matters!
So good! Always a huge fan of your emails! I always leave them unopened until I have time to read and FULLY appreciate them. Thanks for the work you do, Kate!!
