It only takes a minute of scrolling TikTok or Reels to understand that skincare and the industry in general are…. a very big deal. It can feel like every other video is yet another complex, extravagant, 14-step skincare routine, and honestly?
I get it. It can be FUN to take care of your skin, try new products, and get swept up in the latest trend of the moment (“morning shed,” anyone?).
But in general, I try to resist the noise and keep it pretty holistic and simple with my skin — reaching for natural remedies, minimalistic routines, clean ingredients, and at-home treatments that make my skin feel good.
Today, we are going to cover…
my favorite holistic approaches to skincare,
at-home, DIY treatments to promote glowing skin,
SPECIFIC supplements for skin health,
a list of holistic skin treatments that you can utilize
4 tried ‘n’ true brands that I utilize for clean, nontoxic skincare
nutritional secrets to glowing from the inside out,
…and all sorts of natural, cost-effective [and, um, kind of random] ways to glow. (One may or may not involve a frozen cucumber?)
Of note— while absolutely nothing on this list is sponsored, I did include affiliate links to products I genuinely use + love, which may generate a small commission for me ◡̈ I take my recommendations seriously, and I hope you love them as much as I do. Enjoy!
So, let’s cut to the chase— no need to keep ya waiting around with a long intro ;) Let’s get started!
✨ #1 Facial Dry Brushing
This is an amazing way to get some natural, gentle, easy exfoliation! I always talk about dry brushing in general, and for this holistic hack people almost always just think of the body, but you can actually dry brush your face!
Facial dry brushing helps naturally exfoliate, promote healthy circulation in the skin, encourages collagen production…plus, it’s really easy and cost-efficient. The general method here is to start in the center of your face and brush outwards (if you are a visual learner, here’s a great 3-minute tutorial), but you don’t have to be too strict here!
Just do what feels good, use light strokes, and boom— you’re naturally exfoliating the skin, boosting circulation, and promoting lymphatic health… I love this hack and I think it’s SUPER underrated.
✨#2 Holistic Supplements
I’m all about healing & glowing from the inside out— because while it’s easy to glamorous ONE certain skincare product as a quick fix, most of skin health starts with your internal wellbeing.
And, sure, there are many oral supplements that tout skin benefits, but there are really only 2 specific ones that I would highly recommend…
