Hello, hello—
Summertime and the livin’ IS easy.
Right now, I am at a cabin weekend with all of my college roommates, our spouses, and our kiddos.
If you know anything about “making plans” as an adult, I think we can agree that getting SIX separate families together for one weekend is nothing short of a modern-day miracle…
(We may or may not have started planning this weekend last August…) .
Mmm, a few days with nothing on the agenda except ordinary summertime magic— lake swims, homecooked meals, and yard games. We are savoring every bit of this rare occurrence of all being together!
But enough about me— here’s the scoop on YOUR Sunday R.E.S.E.T. today:
What’s in store…
🖼 RECOMMENDING: A relatively simple way to add personality & sentimental value to your walls.
🪴 EATING: A simple hack to add a health punch to your meals this summer.
🛍 SHOPPING: I am on the hunt for the perfect… robe? Here are my [very specific] requirements
💻 ENTERTAINMENT: A quick round-up of links, videos, articles, & podcasts that I’ve been binging lately.
✨ TRYING: The [somewhat drastic] thing I do whenever I need a consumption reset. Plus, the book that always inspires me to live with less.
Today, my recommendation is to get something small professionally framed!
Whether it’s a menu from a special restaurant, a matchbook from a memorable hotel, a page from an old journal, a concert ticket, an airplane boarding pass, or beyond—getting it professionally framed can take your memento from feeling like clutter to feeling like art.
…But I finally got it professionally framed (after procrastinating the task for nearly 18 months 🤣) , and I am so happy I did. It now hangs in our entryway and looks so elevated. We’ve already gotten multiple comments on it from guests!
While there are many options for framing, I ultimately went with Framebridge* for ease (not sponsored or formally affiliated!) and just wanted to say that I had a very seamless experience with it. I've heard about it on countless podcast ads, and it truly was easy. I am loving our new framed keepsake!
As I’ve talked about a zillion times, there are so many benefits to eating with the seasons— and in eating your seasonings!
(I can’t tell if that was clever or stupid. Don’t answer that.)
My reminder for nutrition this week is to buy at least one fresh herb when you’re at the grocery store or farmer’s market this week! Not only does it completely elevate a meal from a taste perspective, but there are also many health benefits to herbs.
When it comes to health, I'm all about the ADDITION mindset instead of DEPRIVATION.
Rather than constantly telling yourself what you “can’t” eat, I encourage you to ask: What’s one thing you can add to your meal to make it just a bit more nourishing?
One such “small thing” is adding herbs on top of your meal. They’re delicious, easy, and packed with health benefits. For example…
CILANTRO: An amazing antioxidant and great for natural heavy metal detoxification.
BASIL: Great for immune function as it is rich in vitamin C, zinc, and iron.
MINT: Helpful for digestion and a great source of vitamin A.
PARSLEY: A strong anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and antioxidant.
DILL: Supports heart health, bone health, and is a great source of fiber.
Psssst: If you're looking for herby inspo, my [super simple] watermelon salad is incredible with either basil or mint. (I made it yet again for a small BBQ last week and there wasn’t a single bite left!)
Okay, don’t laugh at me, but I have put a LAUGHABLE amount of time into finding thee perfect robe for postpartum.
Between sleepy eyes, lazy days at home, and breastfeeding around-the-clock, I lived in my robe 24/7 during our first postpartum experience, and it was a godsend. I wore it so often I remember being frustrated whenever I inevitably had to wash it (which was often, thanks to spit-up and leaking milk…). So, I've decided to purchase a second robe to always have a backup for this upcoming postpartum season.
Below, I am sharing my [very specific] requirements & links to all of my current front-runners….
