How I'm prepping for 2024 ✅ (The Sunday R.E.S.E.T. #12)
what is YOUR word of the year? I want to know!
Hello, hello, my friend!
Happy last Sunday of the year. (How crazy!)
Honestly, 2023 was a very transformative time for me.
And it wasn’t in a big, flashy, “front page” kind of way— but more in the subtle, internal, private, & mundane moments.
While 2021 was the year I graduated with my doctorate (a monumental moment!), 2022 was the year I became a mom & went full-time in my business (huge, life-altering things!), yet 2023, the year where “nothing” happened, somehow felt most impactful of all.
I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I just feel like I am exiting this year with many new insights & perspectives & boundaries—
Like, I am FULLY stepping into my own identify, my own desires, and my own path.
And, honestly?
Typing that^^ sentence out feels a bit dramatic.
It’s not like I had some huge epiphany or aha moment or something extraordinary. But yet, bit-by-bit & day-by-day, this year softened me, it challenged me, and it stretched me.
and I am better because of it.
Maybe it’s because it was my first full year of motherhood. Maybe it’s because it’s my first full year of owning my own business. Maybe it’s because I’m living the final year of 20s and am subconsciously preparing for a new decade.
…Or maybe it’s just because my pre-frontal cortex is finally in full-form?
But, regardless, 2023 was the year that clarified what I ACTUALLY value— in my family, in my career, in motherhood, in marriage, in health, in finances, in social media, in my home, in my pace of life, and beyond.
I just feel clear.
I know what I want.
I know who I want to be.
And I am so excited to take those internal lessons into 2024 with me.
🌟So, today, we are welcoming 2024, with a new-years-focused Sunday R.E.S.E.T.🌟

⬇️ Okay, now let’s get into this Sunday R.E.S.E.T. ⬇️
Mmmmm, reflection.
Before the clock strikes midnight, I encourage you to grab your journal & TRULY reflect on 2023. (While a mental reflection is sufficient, I think there is a certain magic in putting pen-to-paper with things like this)
Because, before we get where we’re going, we have to reflect on where we’ve been.
And I know that sometimes it can feel like not much has happened over the course of the year, but really think about where you were a YEAR ago. My guess is that at least some growth, transition, & life events happened.
Dig deep as you look back on everything that happened in the last 12 months. Think about what went well, and what you maybe set out to do that *didn’t* go so well.
What has changed since January 1st of 2023?
What are you proud of in the last year?
What was challenging in the last year?
Any big milestones or events in the last year? (Anniversaries, new jobs, vacations, break-ups, etc.)
What lessons did you learn in the last year?
Etc. etc. etc.
12 months may feel short, but in many ways— it’s a long time. When you really pause and think about everything that’s happened in the past YEAR??? There’s probably a lot more to reflect upon than you initially thought.
Whether it was your career, home, health, family, vacations, personal struggles, relationship changes, big milestones, and beyond—
Celebrate those wins, acknowledge the challenges, and embrace the growth. It's not just about where you are now, but the journey that brought you here.
Okay, okay— I really try not to be overly “salesy” of my own products on this newsletter, but this one is important (and time-sensitive…)
As we enter 2024, I needed to include a quick lil plug for what is one of my proudest creations — The Foundations of Wellbeing ◡̈

Ahhhhhhh, one of the best things to truly ensure you’re starting 2024 with a blank slate. Whether it’s your calendar, your closet, your car…take some time to simplify this week.
Here are some simplification methods that always make SUCH a huge difference for me:
Clean out your purse / backpack / diaper bag.
Do a digital detox — delete apps, old messages, and photos.
Organize your junk drawer (you know the one…)
Do a quick inventory of your finances & clarify your different accounts, money goals, etc.
Empty our your car & do a deep-clean of the interior.
Grab you 2024 planner & pencil in some special dates, intentions, etc.
Sort your closet by color or clothing type.
Do a quick purge of your pantry/fridge for expired items.
Experiment with a capsule wardrobe— narrow down and curate your closet.
Declutter and organize ONE area of your house (instead of kinda, sorta decluttering multiple areas— pick one high-impact area and DO THE DANG THING)
Put your phone on airplane mode & have a screen-free day.
Sell or donate items that you’ve been meaning to get rid of
Go through your social media feed & unfollow accounts that no longer serve you.
Whatever it is, do something that will make YOUR life feel more simplified. Just 10% easier. 10% more efficient. 10% less stressful.
This doesn’t have to be a huge undertaking, really just 1-2 hours of focused work can totally change the game on clearing up the mental, physical, and emotional space around you.
SIMPLIFYING your daily spaces can have a huge impact. It’s such a wonderful (and often free!) way to enter the new year with fresh energy.
Okay, as you’ve probably picked up on by now, I am one of ~those~ annoying people that LOVE a new year, a blank slate, and setting goals on January 1st.
And while I understand resolutions aren’t for everyone (which is totally fine and understandable!), I know many are similar to me and genuinely enjoy the fresh energy that a flip of the calendar can bring.
So, I thought I’d give you a peek behind the curtain, and explain the tools I use each year for my year-end reflection & goal-setting process!
