A Mineral Sunscreen (That Doesn't Suck) and The Book I Read In 24 Hours... π
Sunday RESET #25
Hello there, my friend!
Iβm not sure how 2024 is going by this quickly, but weβre somehow already at the first Sunday of summer (say it with meβ¦ ahhhhhhhh πππ).

I am really looking forward to a few warm months of outdoor walks, barbecues, and leaning into the fact that this will be our last summer as a family of three... so crazy!Β
(Also, thanks for all of the love on the Twin Pregnancy Q&A I released earlier this week! It was very therapeutic to write/record, and Iβm so glad you guys are enjoying it π)
Okay, now, letβs preview what we will cover todayβ
βοΈ Todayβs Sunday R.E.S.E.T. will include:Β
π READING: The book I ripped through in a single day because it was just. that. good. (Runners, youβre gonna want to bookmark this one!)
πͺ EATING: An option for healthier [yet still delicious] chocolate chip cookies
πΆ SPOTIFY RECS: To my fellow toddler parents, hereβs a round up chill, acoustic, folky childrenβs songs that are at least tolerable (and dare I say, enjoyable) to the adult ear.
π ENJOYING: My holistic view on sun exposure. (Plus, I finally found a mineral facial sunscreen that ACTUALLY blends well...)
π THINKING ABOUT: My husband did a small, semi-romantic (?) gesture that genuinely meant so much to meβ¦ (brb, petitioning to make this a Love Language)
Ready to dive in? Letβs do it!
As you may or may not know, running is a huge part of my life. I ran high school track competitively, captained a Division I college team, have participated in countless races, and have gradually become a βhobby joggerβ in adulthood.
While I no longer run fast or competitively, running remains a consistent, peaceful, and grounding part of my life. Itβs a core part of who I am.
So, itβs safe to say that I was very excited to read "Good For A Girl" by Lauren Fleshman as not only is she one of the most decorated womenβs runners in U.S. history, she *also* has such a powerful writing voice.
While I personally loved the behind the scenes look at Laurenβs running career, the book ended up being about so much more than track.
"Good For A Girl" covered topics like access to sports across genders, body image in athletics, the prevalence of eating disorders amongst female athletes, navigating fitness amidst pregnancy, menstrual cycles, and bodily changes, how athletic performance can affect your self-worth, and more.
It felt like part memoir, part reflective essay on women and sports, and I loved it.
If youβre a runner, an athlete, or just interested in female physiology, body image, and a new perspective on fitness as a woman, this was a great read. Highly recommend!
You, guys. This whole-ingredient cookie mix is sooo good. Like, whoa.
In pregnancy, I do my best to honor my cravings while *also* trying to appease them in more of a whole-foods, nourishing way. And lately, I have been wanting good olβ chocolate chip cookies on repeat. π€€
While homemade is undoubtedly the best option, I donβt always have time to whip βem up from scratchβ so I tried a few different, healthy box mix options, and ended up loving the Simple Mills brand the best. Why?
Theyβre SO delicious,
I feel good about the ingredients.
Itβs a win-win.
My pro tips: in this recipe, you can add either milk or eggs. I prefer doing it with milk. Then, I take it out on the lower range of how long they say you should bake it for (around 9 minutes) . Theyβll be underbaked at this point, but just let them cool and then store in the fridge, and the result will be perfectly baked, ridiculously chewy, chocolate chip cookie perfection. Trust me.
Just passing along a random rec if youβre GF or want to eat more whole foods but still have a sweet tooth β I put the Kate Stamp of Approval on this mix.Β
Attention all parents!
You know that mind-numbing moment when your toddler wants to listen to "Wheels on the Bus" for the 819th time (β¦and itβs only 7:47 AM)?

Well, I have the solution.
After searching high and low, Iβve curated 7 options for acoustic, folky, actually-pleasant-to-listen-to childrenβs music on Spotify. My only testimonial is that I can play these all day without wanting to rip my ears off!!!! ππ
π Ya ready? Hereβs your round-up of acoustic, chill kiddo tunes:
