a fool-proof method to declutter your home ✌️ (plus, budgeting hacks, smoothie recipes, & more)
Sunday R.E.S.E.T. #26
Hello, hello—
As you read this, we are currently spending the weekend visiting friends across the state.
While we used to spend our summer weekends with friends by going to the beach, doing long hikes, day drinking, and staying up late— we are likely wrangling our toddlers at the local splash pad, packing snacks, applying sunscreen, and abiding by bedtime.
Life comes at you fast.
But it’s funny— because one of my greatest concerns before becoming a mom was losing my “freedom”.
And, honestly? Valid. 🤣
But the reality is, I’ve found the transition to this stage of life to be magical in its own way— sure, we don’t travel or hike or get to “go with the flow” or stay out as late as frequently we used to, but there is a whole new set of experiences that parenthood has unlocked. It’s absolutely different, but I genuinely love this stage of life.
(…Now, excuse me, as I go try to convince my toddler to wear his sunhat for the 87th time today.)
Okay, it’s time to jump in…✨
Here’s what’s in store for today’s Sunday R.E.S.E.T.:
📚 READING: A quick list of 5 articles that caught my eye lately.
📲 ENJOYING: There are a zillion apps out there, but here’s ONE that I’m really loving lately…
🧺 SORTING: The SPECIFIC room-by-room method that I am using to declutter, purge, and organize our home before the twins come (it’s simple, yet so effective).
🥤 EATING: A fool-proof smoothie recipe perfect for whatever type of berries you have on hand!
🤰🏻THINKING: With my first son, I was fortunate enough to have a straight-forward, low-intervention labor that aligned with my goal for an unmedicated birth. However, my upcoming labor with twins will likely look quuuuite different from that and it’s been interesting to process…
Let’s jump in!
As we all know, the internet is a vast, endless, inspiring, and, um, mind-numbing space— but every so often, a piece of content stands out amidst the ether.
Here are some articles, visuals, and posts that have caught my eye lately:

Something about me? When I find something I love, I simply cannot shut up about it. 🤣✌️ I am forever the friend that’s like “you have to try this”, and today I have a money APP that I am enthusiastically recommending.
As I’ve talked about before, financial wellbeing is really important to me, yet budgeting consistently was something I’ve struggled with. In general— as long as more money came in each month than went out, I felt fine. 🤷🏻♀️ But deep down, I knew that I could get a firmer grasp on SPECIFICALLY where our money was going (groceries, housing, fun purchases, etc.).
I had tried Mint, Quickbooks, and all of the other “big” budgeting apps in the past, but they… sucked 🙂 Their user-experience was clunky, their algorithm was terrible at automatically categorizing transactions, and the interface was confusing.
…and then I found Co-pilot.
(By the way, this is completely unsponsored, and I pay for my own subscription. ◡̈)
It’s the first budgeting app I have ever been consistent with because it is so. dang. easy. and intuitive to use. Plus, I can fully customize all of my budget categories, utilize emojis (why is “FUN MONEY 🎉✨🕺🏻” so much better than “Discretionary Spending”???), share our budget with my husband, & see my spending progress for the month (this is crucial for visual learners like me).
As you read, I first tried Copilot in my 31 Days of Tracking My Spending experiment from January — and, I’m happy to report that SIX months later, I am still going strong. This is by far the most consistent I’ve ever been with tracking my spending (*pats self on back* ), and this app was a huge reason why. Just wanted to share!
Will I ever shut up about nesting?
I mean, yes.
Eventually.
…Once these twins arrive. 🤣
As you guys know from my recent Summer Update and Ask Kate Anything, I have been feeling the insatiable desire to organize, complete projects, and get our house in order before the babies come.
🗑 And, I mayyyyyy have just cracked the code on HOW to declutter your home in a time-efficient way. I’m serious.
This week, I used a new approach to tackle clutter in our house room-by-room, and do a quick purge.
In just a few hours, I cleared out bags & bags & bags of garbage and donations. It was so easy, straight-forward, and it felt so incredible to declutter and rid our home of excess...
Here’s exactly what I did:
