✨30 life lessons on my 30th birthday
You didn't really expect me to enter a new DECADE without a sappy reflection, did you?!?!
Hey, hey.👋🏼
So, I just turned 30 (and flirty? and thriving????) last Friday, and I’m genuinely so excited to enter this new decade.
I love the reflective nature of birthdays in general, and I especially love the timing of my birthday: it’s spring*, there’s more daylight, it’s a seasonal fresh start, it’s Aries season…the energy just feels so NEW, and I’m always inspired by that!
(*Currently in denial about the 12+ inches of snow we just got in Northern Minnesota…🫠)
So in the days leading up to my big 3-0, I took some time to reflect not only on the last year, but the last DECADE.
And below, I recapped 30 life lessons that feel true to me on my 30th birthday, and I think some of them feel true to you too…
From setting boundaries to maintaining friendships to what I’ve learned about marriage and simply how I spend my time, it’s my hope that this list provides you with a little inspiration, a little tough love, and lots of encouragement to create a life that’s beautiful and vibrant for YOU. Let’s dig into it!
It’s often not personal — Whether it’s a comment, a piece of feedback, or an unanswered text…most times it’s NOT personal. Stop overthinking, stop worrying, stop comparing! The world is bigger than you (which should be a freeing, encouraging thought).
Celebrate your friends NON-baby & NON-marriage accomplishments: In a world that loves wedding showers, baby showers, and so on— don’t forget to also lift up & celebrate your friends’ other accomplishments. Whether it’s a new job, a grad school acceptance, getting out of a bad relationship, or moving into their first solo apartment, CELEBRATE your loved ones!
Don’t decorate your home for the “future buyer” — You’re the current buyer — you live here! Right now. Decorate how you want, live how you want, put up the art how you want, do what you want. Will you someday need to switch things up if you decide to sell? Maybe and maybe not, but you deserve to love the space you live in now.
