šøSpring State of The Union: My Bucket List, What's In My Cart, & Embracing A Beginner's Mindset
COMMUNITY CHAT: What is something you are willing to be a beginner at?
Hellooooo my friends!Ā
Iām not sure how weāre here already, but itās time for another of my absolute fave little āsegmentsā we do here: the seasonal community chat.
Basically this is just a time to check in with each other, think about what we want out of the upcoming season, chat in the comment section, and get some inspo (books, bucket list items, add-to-cart gems, music, and more!).Ā
From whatās at the top of my reading list to what I want to accomplish this spring to the items that are sitting in my shopping cart (that I may or may not check out withā¦), weāre getting into all things spring today. Weāll also have an opportunity to chat about the magic of being a ābeginnerā and how we can introduce more of this mindset into adulthood.Ā
Before we dive in, I want to remind you that my heart behind these seasonal intention setting chats are not one sided ;)
Even though Iāll be sharing a ton of *my* spring faves, the prompt in particular is something Iāve designed to really make space for connection ā both between you and me, and between you and the other commenters!
You guys LOVED this when we did it this past winter (76 comments!), so Iām hoping to keep that momentum going!
Essentially, this is less of a list, more of a community brainstorm: I want to hear what you guys are loving, saving, listening to, and surrounding yourselves with this specific spring! To spark the convo, Iāll share some of mine. Includingā¦
š READING: The book that inspired this entire community chat (even though I havenāt even read it yetā¦ itās that compelling!)
šø ENVISIONING: Everything thatās on my spring vision board, including how Iām prepping my space for spring.
š SWOONING OVER: Are these items in my shopping carts on various websites? Yes. Will I buy them? No. Maybe. Probably.Ā
š„° ENJOYING: The windows down, sun out, springy bops Iām listening to this season.
š¬ TALKING ABOUT: Our community prompt of the season! Even though I want to hear your thoughts on all of the above, this is the ādiscussion boardā moment where weāll all contribute and learn from each other. Iām so excited!Ā
Alright, team, the scene has been set. Letās dive in!
I always like to recommend one general book for the season, and the one I've chosen for this spring is Beginners by Tom Vanderbilt.
While I havenāt read it yet, I was immediately drawn to it and felt it was a perfect match for spring's can-do, uplifting energy following the more inward focus of winter. Spring has such a rejuvenating feeling, making it the ideal time to explore a book focused on the experience of being a beginner.
As adults, we often find ourselves stuck in routines and feeling hesitant to embrace new challenges or accept that we might not excel immediately. Itās SUCH a common feeling ā I mean, who doesnāt get stuck living in autopilot from time to time?!
I'm so excited to delve into this book and I hope it will provide inspiration for ALL of us as we consider what it means to be a beginner, both in big and small ways. Whether it's pursuing a new hobby, exploring a curiosity, or learning a new skill, there's both courage and joy in embracing a beginner's mindset.
So, Beginners is my book recommendation for the season! If you've read it or have any thoughts on it, please share in the comments.
(Pssssstā¦it also has to do with our community prompt below, so I especially want to hear your thoughts on how you could implement more of a ābeginnerās minsetā in your life)
I am envisioningā¦ everything thatās on my spring vision board
Even though Iām sharing my inspo here, I really invite you to envision what you picture for this season.
Donāt get too far ahead of yourself and start thinking about summer, donāt get bogged down with the things you *should* have done in the past, just focus on what you hope will happen in your life this spring.
Here are some examples of whatās on my spring bucket list:
